Hello everyone, I guess November is such a busy month, or should I say pig-out month because of all the holidays, and for our family...because of the birthdays!

Grandma Felisa just turned 87, yes EIGHTY SEVEN years old! Ang tibay di ba? I will be posting some pictures, once I get the chance to ask from Jem.

For now, let's celebrate another birthday...drum roll please....yes, it's CACAI'S Bday, and so John Paul came up with this extra special idea...

60 YRS OLD?

Yeah, now it's out...It's the eldest among cousins: FLORENTINO aka Boy, Bobby, Bob JOCSON!

Kudos to Jeneth's brilliant idea to celebrate a milestone for her papa. Last Saturday, at our humble abode, family and friends came together and gave Kuya Boy the biggest surprise of his life, maybe. We were all stressed out to make sure he won't get a bit of a hint. So I have to ask him to cook his famous Pancit Malabon apparently for Marc's brother. Common to everyone, he can get all hot-headed when things aren't going his way. Exactly how we all wanted it.
So, we are all ready waiting for him behind the door, turned the lights off, and practiced what we will all gonna say and do, and when it's time for him to get into the door, dyaran...we all shouted : Surprise...and guess what? He was standing right at the door with the Pancit Malabon on his hand, and everyone said, Happy Birthday--and he replied so cluelessly: No, it's not my birthday! Like duh? Can't you read the banners that says it's your birthday?
Oh well, it finally sank in, and got it...so everything went well...so much food...so much laughter...but more so, so much tears. Yes, there were tears, and it's Kuya Danny's idea, brilliant idea. Jeneth, Cindy, Jaycee, Ivan, Kuya Danny somehow said the same thing...bawas-bawasan ang pagka-high blood! Buti na lang si Ate Tita very animated...we got off track on the tear-jerks...
But someone brought the house down laughing---that's when I asked Tiyang Felisa for her birthday message to Kuya Boy, guess what she said: Sino bang may birthday? And you know exactly what happened after that...very Felicity!
So, that's it...twas a great celebration of Kuya Boy's 60 years of existence!

Enjoy the pics...so who's turning 60 next?

Kudos to IN MY LIFE...the Movie

Ok, I have to confess that I am not a big fan of Filipino movies at all. Magalit na kayo, but that's me, in all honesty. But, the other side of it is, hindi rin naman ako big fan ng English/American films. I like some of them, but just the same, I don't spend my dollars to see their films, so quits lang. I am a TV-person! I love the comfort of home-viewing! However, if there's a film I really like, and an opinion of someone I respect alot, I might go and see it. So, just because a friend liked the movie "UP", yes, I did see the movie and liked it too.

This time around, this dear friend said, na hindi naman niya napanood ang In My Life, pero maganda raw. Stubborn me, I simply brushed it off, who cares? (So, ibaba na ang mga nakataas na kilay, I plead guilty naman eh). Sa tutoo lang, my niece Jeng called me Saturday, inaaya ako to see it, sabi ko lang, sige lang...am not interested. But Ate Delia, my sis-in-law, who happens to be a big Vilma fan called me Saturday night, and asked if we're watching In My Life. I actually don't have plans for real, after I got so disappointed with Bea Alonzo's And I love you so. Sorry na naman, pero di ko talaga nagustuhan. So this time around, I said, never again ako mag-watch ng Filipino film. But going back to Ate Delia, it was so hard for me to said no, so yesterday, off we went to see it.

OMG, yes I mean OMG! In all fairness, I liked it!!!!!!!!! Very funny and well directed. The script is well written too. There was no dragging part, and the story hits home, especially for filipinos who migrated here. Sobrang makaka-relate ka with the struggles one goes through when moving here in the US, but in a very funny way...ang galeng talaga! To top it all, may puso ang movie na ito!

The ending was anti-climactic for me, but you can't do it any other way, so maganda pa rin.

So, sa lahat ng Pinoy, take it from me, the movie is worth seeing! (ang galing kong magsalita 'no?) But I told myself, I'll get a DVD once it becomes available.

Congrats sa Star Cinema...Mabuhay kayo!...ang galeng...to the highest level!

Something TERRIBLE is coming up...

A Two Year Old
Author: Unknown

A two year old is so many things.

A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings.

A hugger of teddies, a sweet sleepy head.

And someone to dream for in bright years ahead.

A special new person who right from the start, has

a place in the family and a coarse in your heart.

And just when you think you've learned all the things, that your dear son is,

And the joy that he brings,

A hug or a grin comes with such a sweet surprise,

that love finds you smiling

with tears in your eyes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
JULIUS RODRY G. JOCSON

IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!

Yes, it's Football Season, and what a way to start it off for our very own CHARGERS, but a great win against The RAIDERS! Sorry my friend, anyways, any game at the O is always a win, if you know what I mean!
I remember back when I was still in the Philippines, that the one and only team sport that we grew up with and came to love is Basketball. Don't get me wrong, because we've love the sport so much, with all due respect! Who would forget the Crispa-Toyota Days? Later on the MBA was introduced trying to compete with the PBA. It was actually a great idea to bring basketball closer to the people. It became popular because of the team names like Laguna Lakers, Batangas Blades, and later on, more funnier team names came out. Unfortunately, the funny names wasn't enough to keep the league going, So in 2002 I think, it had to fold! Oh which reminds me of a dear friend who happens to be the MBA's barker...so what's up right now KMC?
When I came to the US of A, I was introduced to 2 team sports: Football and Baseball. If you know me that well, if you say sports, it got to be tough and rough, so Baseball never attracted me, the game I mean, because I like A-Rod and Derek, for obvious reasons. So when it came to Football season, I get all excited. Trust me, I don't understand how the game really works, what matters most to me is getting the ball to the other end, so I can yell: TOUCHDOWN! Later on, I find myself getting more interested in it, so I decided to buy the book-Football for Dummies, and start asking around why things are this and that. So now, I have a better way of not only appreciating the game, but understanding it too...the only sport I watch since.
So, if you need me on days that the BOLTS are playing, I wish you good luck, because most likely, you won't get hold of me...joke...joke...joke!

So, see you all at the SUPERBOWL? or should I say SUPERBOLTS!

POGI'S BIG HEART

Who would not know Pogi aka Jay? He is one of Ate Landa's sons. He came to Manila and stayed with us when he was in his teens, since at that time, he just can't afford college just yet. However, his stay with Tyang Tops and Tyang Mameng eventually gave him the chance to go to college. If I am not mistaken, he took X-ray Technician course at the Family Clinic, near UST. But later on I think he shifted to another course, which benefited him to enjoy the job he has right now in the Aloha country.
He is Tyang Mameng's favorite. He took care of her when she was almost bed-ridden. And yes, you would not believe, that Pogi will give Tyang Mameng a bath everytime she wants to. He prepares her meals, her medication, and takes care of her arinola. Pogi treated Tyang Mameng like his own mother, that's why no wonder, she would only want nobody but Pogi to take care of her.

Any time soon, Pogi's BIG HEART will be exposed! Unfortunately, not like the way he showed his big heart to Tyang Mameng, but he has to undergo a HEART BYPASS! Yes, they are opening his heart to treat a clog that andioplasty can't!
So I enjoin everyone to keep him in your prayers. Inasmuch as hospitals and doctors in Hawaii are at their best, asking God to take charge is the most sure thing.
Right now, he is still working but to a minimum. God bless his employer because he has their full support.

I will keep everyone updated as soon as I have more details.
